Competent Person Service
Competence is a term frequently used in reference to organisational arrangements for health and safety management. More specifically it is a requirement of the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations, under which employers are required to appoint a competent person to assist them in meeting their legal obligations.
A cost effective solution to meet employers’ needs is to provide a menu of health and safety advice and support services that can be ' called on ' as and when required. A pre-determined range of services can be agreed, dependent on the employer’s own level of resource, capability and budget.
